Happy New Year! I thought ringing in the New Year with a new cocktail ring was fitting. This one is easy as a pinch.

Start out with an adjustable ring base and topper (the flower thing is what I am calling a topper). I found this flower pendant at Wal Mart on clearance for less than $2.00. I had to get it! Since it was intended to be used as a pendant, I broke the loops off the back with pliers to create a flatter surface.

Glue the topper to the ring with E6000. Don't think you can get away with just plain ol' hot glue with this. I tried it and the topper fell off within a couple hours. Hot glue is not intended to adhere well to metals.

You could probably wear it after letting it dry for a few hours but I let mine dry over night to be safe.
The Real Deal: It only cost me $3.00 to make this cocktail ring.
Go and be pretty,

Pretty but old buttons would work also.
Thanks for the glue tip. I've been using hot glue on this too and ran into the same problem that you did. Again thanks for the tip. ^^
would you mind if I pinned this to my inspiration board on pinterest?
Yes, that’s fine Sarah. Thank you!
Please tell me more about the adhesive E6000 and do I buy it in the jewelry section also?
E6000 is a multipurpose glue that usually takes at least a few hours to dry. But after it is dry it’s not going anywhere! I use it for all kinds of crafts and, yes, you can find it in the jewelry section. If not, try the glue section.
I have been looking for the perfect flower ring, so what better way than to make my own!! where could I find that type of ring base?
Rebecca – I bought it from Hobby Lobby.
What a clever idea. The ring is a must for me to create as gifts. Thanks so much for your great idea.

Awesome results. And for $3.00 and just a little bit of time. Great.
I love that ring. I only hope I can find some nice "toppers".
I have that EXACT topper. I know what i can do with it now!!! thanks!
I'm really starting to get into wearing cocktail rings, but they can be pricey! This is an awesome and easy craft! Thanks for sharing!
Hi there, fab idea, here is another, instead of getting a topper why not use any old broach…
Where can I purchase a ring base? LOVE this idea!
Thanks Barbara! You can get a ring base in the jewelry section of most crafts stores.
Absolutely beautiful
Love your ring!! What a great idea I can't wait to try this!
