I love fall and the changing of seasons. This time of year tends to push me into decorating mode, so I’ve been collecting fall decor ideas. Realistically I don’t have much time to make them which is why I made these fall mini flower pots instead. You can make three in about three minutes. Watch my video to see how you can make a mini flower pot yourself in about one minute. And while I’m racing to finish this craft, my two year old is racing to see how many corn kernels she can put up her nose before I catch her.

I put a few on my fireplace mantel. The dinner table would be another nice place as well. Where do you like to add small fall decor?
I made this heart shaped pot holder for Prudent Baby's contest. Want to know how to make one?
Make a heart pattern out of paper. Include a strip 2 inches long by 1/4 inch deep at the bottom of the pattern (it's more visible on the pink piece of fabric). This is where you will sew the two hearts together. Trace the paper pattern onto two pieces of fabric. I used a regular pencil to trace. Cut the fabric out. The two hearts are not sewn together yet.
Flip the left piece of fabric and pin in place as shown. Sew along the black line with a straight stitch. Cut away the excess fabric.
Flip the left piece of fabric back to its original position.
Using the top piece of fabric, trace the pattern onto batting and a piece of fabric for the bottom. Cut the batting and bottom fabric out. I used 'Warm and Natural' batting.
Combine the layers, all right side out, with the batting in between. Sew them together as shown.
Trace the top of the heart pattern onto two pieces of fabric. Cut the fabric out.
Sew double wide bias tape along the bottom of each piece of fabric. Cut out a heart shape from scrap fabric. Sew the scrap heart onto the green piece of fabric.
And there you have it! Two hearts are more fun don't you think?
